  • Responsibilities:
    • Flower Selection: Florists choose fresh flowers and foliage based on the client’s needs and the occasion. This involves understanding flower varieties, seasons, and how they complement each other visually.
    • Creating Arrangements: Florists design and create custom arrangements for events, such as weddings, funerals, corporate functions, or holidays. They can work with bouquets, centerpieces, wreaths, and other decorative items.
    • Customer Consultation: Florists often meet with customers to discuss their preferences, event details, and budget. They offer advice on flower types, colors, and styles that fit the occasion.
    • Maintaining Floral Inventory: Florists manage inventory, ensuring flowers and supplies are fresh and available. This includes receiving deliveries, storing flowers properly, and keeping the shop well-stocked.
    • Flower Care: Florists care for flowers to extend their life, trimming stems, adding water, and ensuring proper storage conditions to maintain freshness.
    • Delivery: Florists arrange for the delivery of floral products to clients, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
    • Sales and Marketing: Florists are often responsible for promoting their services, managing orders, and selling floral products both in-store and online.
    • Event Decoration: For larger events like weddings or corporate gatherings, florists may be involved in the design and decoration of the venue with floral displays.
    • Budgeting and Pricing: Florists manage pricing for their products and services, ensuring they meet both customer expectations and business profitability.
  • Requirements:
    • Floral design courses: Many florists take courses in floral arrangement, color theory, and business management at vocational schools or community colleges.
    • Previous experience of work at least 1 year.
    • Creativity & Artistic Ability: A good eye for design, color, and arrangement is essential.
    • Knowledge of Flowers & Plants: Understanding different flower types, their seasonal availability, and how to care for them.
    • Customer Service Skills: Ability to work with clients, understand their needs, and provide excellent service.
    • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for arranging flowers with precision.
    • Time Management: Meeting deadlines for events, deliveries, and customer orders.
